Buccal Monitoring

The 3DISC Buccal Monitoring feature enables you to easily carry out follow up of patients, and share relevant Buccal Monitoring data with the patient using 3DISC Scan&Tell™.

Using the Buccal Monitoring Tool

Adding a patient profile

To access the Buccal Monitoring tool:

  • 1. Select a case in the list of Patients & Cases.
  • 2. Select another case for the same Patient, for comparison.
  • 3. Click Buccal Monitoring
  • In the Buccal Monitoring dialog box, select the arches for comparison:

  • 5. Click OK

This will open the Buccal Monitoring page:

  • The most recent case is displayed on the right-hand side.
  • You can select Auto or Manual mode.

Auto mode

  • To launch the Buccal Monitoring comparison tool in Auto mode, click Calculate Distance

This will display the two cases side-by-side, and indicate any differences in the most recent case using a color gradient.

  • To display the distance on the color gradient from zero, click on the icon in the right-hand menu as shown:

You can link/unlink the cases, so that both cases move together.

To do so:

  • Click on the link icon as shown:

Manual mode

  • To launch the Buccal Monitoring comparison tool in Manual mode, select Manual and click:

    Calculate Distance

  • Click 3 points on the left-hand reference arch.
  • Click 3 points in the same order on the right-hand arch.

  • Click Calculate Distance

Sharing Buccal Monitoring Information

  • To take a screen capture of the buccal monitor image click on the photo icon in the right-hand tools menu.

You can view, export & share the buccal monitor image in the 3DiscClinic Image Acquisition page and using the Scan & Tell application installed on your iPad® or Android tablet.

3DISC Scan&Tell™ enables you to connect to the Buccal Monitoring images and data via iPad® or tablet, to better discuss, advise and interact with your patients.
