Release Notes 3.7

The following features and improvements have been added to version 3.7 of the HeronClinic™ software.

New Features and Improvements in this Version

Improved Scanning Experience

Improved Scan Tools Interface

• A more ergonomic user interface, with easy-to-use scan tools for the upper and lower jaws displayed directly below the 3D Model.

• New "Tools/3D Navigation" Toggle Button makes it easier to move between modes.

Region Locking Tool

• A new Region Lock tool supports the locking of a region while scanning to avoid any further updates of that specific region. This first implementation provides limited features that will be extended with future updates.

Live View Options

This feature enables the user to adjust the live view display depending on the position adopted for the scanning process. For demonstrations and models it is recommended you select the default option.

Improved Touch Screen Support

• Improved support for touch-screen use, including updated interaction in the 3D scene.

A new Scan Optimization while Scanning feature can be set in the 3D Settings menu.

• For more efficient data processing, it is now possible to automatically optimize scan data during the scan.

Extended Case Setup Options

Extended Case Setup options

• To provide you with greater control over patient information, it is now possible to hide the patient name when sharing case files with labs. This option is available in Case Setup Settings.

NOTE: The Hide Patient Name When Sending To The Lab option is activated by default.

• It is now possible to add user defined materials per indication in Case Setup Settings.
• Update of available implant libraries – note that if you have previously added or customized the implant you will need to reset the implant list.
• Different indications/restorations menu options for Simply Scan, Advanced and Specialist scan workflows are now available in the Case Setup settings menu.

• Option to Restore Default Settings in the setting menu by clicking: Restore Default
• Username updated on log-in page if changed from HeronClinic™.

Support Data Recovery

Improved Data Recovery for Support

• Preservation of the TEMP folder for longer to help 3DISC Support recover more data sets.

Case Finalization

A new Model Closing Tool is available in the Case Finalization step.

The current implementation enables the plane to be adjusted vertically only, and is restricted to models that are in occlusion. This first implementation provides limited features that will be extended with future updates.

Extended Screenshot Mode

• Screenshot mode is now available in both Scanning and Case Finalization steps.

Online Resources & Localization

New 3DISC Online Help

• 3DISC Online Help — We are pleased to announce the launch of 3DISC Online Help, providing you with instant access to the most up-to-date user information.
  
  
  
  We hope this will provide a smoother and more intuitive user experience for you and your patients.
  
  This initial version is available in English only.

• Online Resources — Heron IOS User Manual 3.7 will be issued in English, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese (Brazil).

Bug fixes

Bugs Fixed in version 3.7

• Correction of the use of the “C” button — Correction of the use of the “c” button for 2D image capture when clicked while the scanner was not scanning.
• Option to set HR for all scan types in the 3D settings.
• Update of rescanned areas when user has defined areas to remove from scan data.
• Username updated on log-in page if changed from Default name.
• Updated project file when starting exocad from Case Finalization step.
